Projects and Industry Sectors

The experience and capability of projectioneering comes from a background of diverse activities for a range of project developments. The developments have generally been in the industry sectors of:

  • Power & Energy
  • Water
  • Mining
  • Public Utilities

These developments include:

  • Transmission Lines and Substations
  • Wind power
  • Thermal generation (coal-fired)
  • Hydropower and mini-hydro
  • Solar Thermal
  • Solar Photovoltaic
  • Biomass power
  • Geothermal power
  • Biofuels and renewable fuels
  • Water supply and reticulation
  • Optic Fibre Installation
  • Diesel Fuel Supply Contracts
  • Regulatory pricing submissions
  • Contaminated Land Redevelopment
  • Mine Infrastructure

2010 Projects

  • Facilitating pricing Offers for a range of wind farm projects in WA, Qld and the South Pacific
  • Project Scoping for Waste Heat Recovery projects from diesel generation.  Service can be offered as equipment supply, EPC or even as an IPP (subject to satisfactory commercial considerations).  This can be a very attractive proposition for diesel-constrained power systems.
  • Technical consultant for a pre-feasibility and feasibility study for a large wind farm development in The Philippines
  • Consultant/Advisor for a pre-feasibility study for a run-of-river hydro project in Papua New Guinea
  • Technical/Commercial support for a number of biomass projects including 1 in WA and 1 in Fiji
  • Developing superconducting technology to manufacture 11kV power system products that will revolutionise grid development.  First product is a Superconducting Fault Current limiter (SFCL).
  • Design Verification work for a European manufacturer of solar systems and associated equipment
  • Developing projects in small-scale wind (0.5-3 MW) and other technologies

Project experience – projectioneering staff have been involved in the following projects:
    • Large Wind Farm Project. Project Managed the feasibility (technical and economic), environmental and statutory approvals and business case for a large scale wind farm (140 MW) in southern Australia including the associated 46 km transmission connection through agricultural land and state regional reserves. Fee Value – $3,600k
    • 10 MW Wind Farm in South Pacific. Required wind assessment, feasibility, tender, EIA, EPC contract, construction, substations (2), control building, transmission connection and installation of 37 x 275 kW wind turbines (tilt-down type) – Project Value - $34M
    • Managed approvals and permitting for small wind turbine project in NSW. Previous attempts at approvals had failed and involvement was to resurrect the project and deliver a successful approval. Approval granted later in 2007.
    • Wind farm Project. Environmental and statutory approvals for Wind Farm Project in southern Australia. Environment Manager for Construction phase on site, supervising contractors and reporting/auditing performance against approval conditions.
    • 38 MW Hydro Power Development. Required land acquisition, resource assessment, feasibility, tender, EIA and contract evaluation of hydro scheme using 4 x 9.5 MW pelton turbines, 1.8 km long tunnel and 900m of surface penstock – Project Value - $104M
    • 2.8 MW Mini-hydro development on reticulated Water Supply Scheme in South Pacific. Required construction of powerhouse, installation of equipment, substation, transmission connection and significant liaison with water supply authority and local municipal authorities – Project Value - $9M
    • Catchment Basin Development. Concept development and feasibility studies for new hydropower basin as well as increasing energy output from existing hydropower scheme. Included preliminary EIA and geotechnical assessment
    • 3 MW Biomass plant utilising a refurbished diesel power station to accommodate 3 x 1 MW steam turbine units running on a variety of sawmill waste and solid offcuts. Required resource assessment, feasibility, tender, EIA and contract evaluation – Project Value - $12M
    • Research, testing and analysis for changeover of key diesel machines to run on either biofuels or Heavy Fuel Oil. Required tenders for equipment supply and fuel contracts, as well as logistic development in shipping, storage and surface transport. Also involved managing trial of various biofuels in 1 MW diesel generators for comparison – Project Value - $12M
    • Pre-feasibility study of geothermal (hot dry rocks) potential for parts of southern Australia.
    • Project Management of new 33/11 kV substation for transmission of wind farm generation – Fee Value - $240k
    • Project Management of refurbishment of existing substation to cater for increased capacity of surrounding area – Fee Value - $180k
    • New 132kV Transmission Line. Required preliminary route selection, land acquisition agreements, social and EIA and preliminary design – Fee Value - $380k
    • Deviation of 110kV Transmission Line. Design and investigation of EHV Transmission Line project including specifications, procurement of materials and liaising with construction, procurement, stores and asset owner personnel as job manager for 110kV transmission line deviation.
    • Environmental Project. Managing the underground fuel tank removal at several sites of a state-owned utility.
    • Environmental Project. Land contamination assessment and remediation at several sites of a state-owned utility.
    • Environmental Project. Management of environmental issues involved in large scale land divestment program for state-owned utility. This includes the development and implementation of strategies for management of shack site areas, sensitive sites and aboriginal/cultural heritage
